Frequently Asked Questions
What primary services do you offer?
We offer dog walking/visits; cat visits; and dog boarding in our home.
What are the rates of your services?
Please see our Services & Prices page for a complete and detailed list.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes, we are.
How do I book a walk or overnight stay?
Call, text, or email us through our Contact Us page. The quickest way to receive a response is to text either one of us:
-Michael @ 610-500-3635 or -Jessica @ 610-742-5931
What’s the process of getting started?
First, we will set up a meet and greet at a convenient day and time for both parties in your home. We will then discuss all the goals and needs you and your pet(s) have to ensure proper care. If both parties agree on service, we will then follow through with dates requested. You will receive daily updates and pictures about your fur babies!
Do you stay overnight at our pet’s home?
Not at this time. We are currently only offering boarding services in our home.
Do you board cats?
Unfortunately, that is not a service that we offer.
My dog is not friendly with other dogs. Can she/he board with you?
Our sincerest apologies! We can board dogs only if they are friendly with others. Safety is our top priority!
Will my dog be in a kennel/crate all day?
Absolutely not! We don’t have typical 9-5 job, and we are home most of the day. If your dog needs to be crated while out or at bedtime, we do have some to spare to eliminate the hassle of transporting your own during boardings. Otherwise, dogs can free roam.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We currently accept Venmo, cash, or checks made out to The Furry GodParents.
Is there a cancellation policy?
We understand that there may be emergencies or changes in plans. Please give us as much notice as you can before a cancellation. However, we ask for half the charge of a requested walk if we have already arrived on location, but can’t complete the walk.
In terms of inclement weather, are visits still made?
During heavy rain and snow, we make every reasonable effort to show. We may shorten walks for the comfort of your pet, but still play with them indoors. If roads are dangerous, we will not risk our lives until it is safe to drive. If a visit is cancelled due to weather, you will not be charged. Please feel free to leave a towel nearby during rainy days so we can wipe your pet’s paws.
How much notice do I have to give before service?
We ask for as much notice as you can give, but we are flexible. Most of the time, we are available and can work with in a given timeframe. We understand some people get stuck at work or have flight delays; communicate with us as best as you can so we can properly accommodate.
How will you enter my home?
With your preferred choice, we can enter your home via lockbox, hidden key, or a personal key for us to keep. Only with your permission, we may copy your key in case of emergencies.
Do you accept services on the weekends, too?
Absolutely! With as much notice as you can give, we are always happy to help when a client is in need. If we are unavailable, we will let you know. However, we can’t assist if you don’t ask 🙂
I work from home, can you still take my dog for walks?
Of course! We know your dog needs as much love and care whether you’re out of the home or IN. Sometimes it’s difficult to step away from work to let your dog out-or if your hyper puppy just needs to get out for a bit to spend some energy, The Furry GodParents would love to help give you a break.
We would prefer our dog stay at our house overnight. Can you still visit?
Of course! For clients who feel comfortable leaving their dog at home (instead of boarding) while they are on vacation, we will visit usually 3x a day, roughly 6 hours a part: Breakfast, mid-day, and late evening.
Are there any special promotions for referrals?
We are so glad you asked! The best kind of review is through word of mouth. For every referral in which a transaction goes through, we will take $5 off a walking service, or $20 off a boarding service! We appreciate your business, so here’s an incentive to keep using our services.
I have a different animal than a cat or dog, can you still make visits?
We know there are many different kinds of animals out there. If you have a special request for a different pet, we are happy to assist after a meet and greet to ensure proper care. Pets are family, whether they are dogs, cats, birds, monkeys, fish, or amphibians!
How many dogs do you allow at your house at a time?
Due to the fact that our business is primarily utilized in our home, we must limit the capacity to ensure safety for our family and fur guests. The smaller the pup, the more we can board; the bigger the pup, the more we limit. We hope you understand as we do accommodate as best as we can. Your pup will be treated as if they are our own, with more individualized attention. We book fast, so please give as much notice as you are able to.
